IAFF Field Services
IAFF Field representatives provide
on-site technical assistance to local affiliates. This
assistance includes collective bargaining, first contracts,
mediation, paralegal support and expert testimony during
arbitration.
Specific duties include the following:
- Advise or represent locals in
contract negotiations, arbitration, or presentation
before local governmental leaders.
- Prepare briefs for arbitration.
- Work in cooperation with IAFF
district vice presidents to organize new IAFF
affiliates.
- Work in cooperation with district
vice presidents to build existing locals.
- Work in conjunction with the
Department of Education and Training to
deliver educational seminars on local union
administration, grievances or contract negotiations.
How to Request
Direct requests for a field
representative to your appropriate district vice president.
Include the reason for on-site assistance and the estimated
time required to complete the assistance.
