District 5 Kicks Off 2008 Fill-the-Boot Program
IAFF 5th District Vice President Joe Conway and other 5th District leaders assembled in Minneapolis
to kick off the 2008 Fill-the-Boot program. More than 60
attendees representing some 25 Locals – a nearly 100 percent increase in
attendance from the prior year – participated in the event.

 Boca Raton Fire Fighters Hold Spring Boot Drive
May 5, 2008 - City of Boca Raton, FL Local 1560 fire fighters hit the
streets March 28-29 for their first ever Spring Boot Drive. Under the leadership of Local 1560
President John Luca, Fire Chief Tom Wood and MDA Coordinator Mike LaSalle, the Boca Raton
Local 1560 raised more than $8,000! The amount collected sets a new record for the funds
collected during a boot drive for MDA. Great job Boca fire fighters!

Fairfax County, VA Local 2068 is
recognized by MDA as the leader of the nation's Fill-the-Boot campaign. Their
efforts come in just over the half million dollar mark raising a total of $536,026
