Los Angeles Local 112 Holds 4th Annual Fill-the-Boot Campaign

August 19, 2009 - Los Angeles City, CA Local 112 held its Fill-the-Boot event April 27-29, 2009, raising more than $196,465 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Over the last four years, Los Angeles City fire fighters have raised more than $536,180 for children and adults living with neuromuscular disease in Southern California.

These funds will help MDA continue its groundbreaking research at such renowned facilities as the University of Southern California and UCLA. Local 112’s efforts will also allow “Jerry’s kids” to attend the MDA Summer Camp at the Palomar Christian Conference Center in San Diego County. MDA dedicates almost 78 percent of every dollar raised to program services and research.
