Host Local 1908 Hospitality Showcases Las Vegas’ Best

August 11, 2008 -- Clark County, NV Local 1908, the host local for the 2008 Convention, welcomed delegates with a series of events designed to showcase the beauty and excitement of Las Vegas.’

More than 60 motorcycles and 70 riders, including IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger, rumbled through the scenic Spring Mountains surrounding Las Vegas for the Local 1908 Motorcycle Ride on Saturday, while the Local 1908 Golf Tournament on Sunday at the Silverstone Golf Course attracted 136 IAFF members.

Local 1908 also hosted a welcome reception Sunday evening for delegates and guests who enjoyed the local’s hospitality and a live band in the luxurious surroundings of the Rio hotel’s outdoor pool.

Addressing delegates during the Monday business session, Local 1908 President Ryan Beaman welcomed IAFF members to Las Vegas on behalf of his members. “We worked hard to get you here and we’re proud to show you and your families all that Las Vegas has to offer,” he said.
