Firefest Concert and 5K Race Benefits Fire Fighter Families

June 5, 2008 – Des Moines, IA Local 4 will host its second annual Firefest Street Concert on August 23, 2008, in downtown Des Moines. The event has been expanded this year to include a 5K race with all proceeds benefiting the Local 4 Burial/Welfare fund.

The street concert will include two bands, fire service displays, food vendors and beer tents. The 5K is a U.S. Track and Field certified course through Waterworks Park in Des Moines. The race registration form can be downloaded on the Local 4 web site.  To register online click here.

The Local 4 Burial/Welfare Fund benefits member fire fighters and their families in times of need related to health or death.
