IAFF-MG 4th District National Ride Route
The IAFF-MG 4th District is riding to Fayetteville, Arkansas,
for the IAFF-MG 2nd National Rally, May 10-18, 2008.
We will depart Frederick, Maryland May 10 and make our way west along I-70 and
I-68, to Morgantown, West Virginia, then ride south to Charleston, West Virginia, via I-64 west. We will overnight in Morehead, Kentucky (430 miles).
May 11 -- continue west on I-64 to Lexington, Kentucky, to Poplar Bluff (430
miles).
May 12 -- Travel southwest to Fayetteville, Arkansas (330 miles).
On May 13, 14 and 15, we will ride the roads in the area at take a possible side
trip to Oklahoma City to tour the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.
On May 16, we will depart south along I-540 to I-40 east and overnight in
Memphis, Tennessee (320 miles). We will arrive in time for Memphis in May’s
world championship barbecue cooking contest on Beale St. that evening.
May 17 -- Continue on I-40 east to I-81 north and overnight in White Pine,
Tennessee (430 miles).
May 18 -- I-81 north and home (430 miles to Frederick).
We will once again provide a trouble truck and a four-bike trailer. Participants
will be asked to contribute towards fuel and beverages ($25-$50 for the trip).
All active and retired IAFF members are welcome to join us. Any 16th District
members who live and/or work in the 4th District are welcome to join us.
