Join California Local for Flapjacks and One Eyed Jacks

September 5, 2006 – Merced City, CA Local 1479 is gearing up for its 18th Annual Pancake Breakfast and 4th Annual Poker Run. The combined event, scheduled for October 14, is named Flapjacks and One Eyed Jacks.

Participants will gather at Merced City Fire Company 51 beginning at 7:00 a.m. Riders in the Poker Run will leave Company 51 as a group at 10:00 a.m. The route will travel through the historic town of La Grange, along the Merced River and finish in Mariposa with a barbeque, soft drinks and prizes.

Prizes will be paid for best hand, worst hand, close but no cigar, sweetheart hand and one eyed jacks. Bikes will also be judged for best bike, best flames and Joe Dirt Special.

The ride benefits local youth sports and provides a sponsorship for a child to a juvenile burn camp. Cost is $25.
