OAPFF 4th District Riders Celebrate Cinco
de Mayo
May
17, 2006 – More than 70 IAFF members in southwest Ohio
participated in the First 4th District Cinco de Mayo Bike
Show and Poker Run. Ohio Association of Professional Fire
Fighters (OAPFF) 4th District Vice President Bill Quinn and
members of Dayton, OH Local 136 hosted the event.
“It’s good to get the members together to have fun,” says Quinn. “This
was the first time I can remember getting together when we weren’t raising
money for charity or doing something union-related.
The $15 registration fee covered event costs and included cash prizes at
the end of the run. The poker run featured several stops along the
motorcycle course where participants stopped to draw a card. At the end of
the run, $350 was awarded to best hand and $175 was awarded to worst hand.
The bike show awards included: best in show, longest travel and oldest
running. In addition, special categories were designated for
Harley-Davidsons and other bikes.
