Wausau Fire Fighters Holds MDA Motorcycle
Ride and Raffle
November 17, 2005 - Wausau, WI Local 415
will hold its Third Annual Fire Fighters Ride and 2005
Harley Road King Firefighter Edition Raffle for MDA on May
19-20, 2006.
The motorcycle ride begins at 9:30 am on May
20 from the Wausau Harley Davidson dealership. Bikers will
ride 40 miles east to the Mohican Northstar Casino in
Bowler, Wisconsin, escorted by fire trucks and police
vehicles. The event concludes with the raffle drawing. In
addition to the motorcycle ride, activities on May 19
include a car show, live entertainment and refreshments.
Participants must register by May 10, 2006. The
$20 entry fee includes T-shirt, snacks, lunch at the casino,
poker chips and drinks at the casino, food after the ride
and live entertainment. After May 10, registration is $25
per person, plus $10 for the T-shirt.
Raffle tickets for the Harley Davidson
motorcycle are $50 and will be available beginning in
January 2006. Only 500 tickets will be sold, with proceeds
donated to MDA.
Last year, more than 460 motorcycles and
almost 700 people participated in the event. Wausau fire
fighters raised $18,000 for MDA -- more than double the
amount raised in 2004.
“We are expecting the crowds to grow many
folds this year,” says event coordinator and Local 415 fire
fighter Andy Adrian. “Wausau is located just south of the
Harley Davidson plant in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, and is a great
location for participants from across the state.”
