IAFF Releases Model Contract Clause Database
April 1, 2008 -- A
Model Contract
Clause Database developed as the second resource of the
IAFF Labor Information Database is now available online. The
Model Contract Clause Database is searchable by clause type
and links to the main
Collective Bargaining Agreement/Wage Schedule Library
for easy reference to full collective agreement language
where applicable. This Model Contract Clause Database is an
invaluable resource for local affiliates interested in
improving or obtaining benefits at the bargaining table.
The Labor Information Database, created in partnership with
the Federation of State and Provincial Professional Fire
Fighters to provide affiliate leaders with critical
information regarding wages and working conditions, includes
three online resources designed to give local leaders rapid
access to key information through a password-protected web
site.
The first product, the
Collective Bargaining Agreement/Wage Schedule Library
searchable by province or state, was released in December
2007. The final product, scheduled for release July 1, 2008,
is a searchable Wage/Salary Database that will allow
searches by effective date of the collective bargaining
agreement, MOU or salary schedule, base salary, longevity
pay, scheduled hours, leave hours, holiday hours and
personal hours.
Like the Collective Bargaining Agreement/Wage Schedule
Library, the Model
Contract Clause Database is restricted to affiliate
leadership. It contains select model contract language from
many of the collective bargaining agreements and MOUs in the
Library. Affiliate leaders can see model clause language,
obtain a list of locals with clauses on a specific issue of
interest and then go to the full agreement to see the
context of the clause.
Remember – in order to gain access to the Labor Information
Database, IAFF affiliates must submit their current salary
schedule, memorandum of understanding or contract for
inclusion in the database.
