Mass Human Relations Conference and Affiliate Leadership
Training Summit (ALTS) will take place back-to-back January
20-25, 2008, in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the Sheraton New
Orleans Hotel. IAFF affiliate leaders who register for both
events save $140.
The Ernest
A. “Buddy” Mass Human Relations Conference features an almost entirely new
workshop schedule. Scheduled for January 20-23, courses range from diverse
recruitment, to overview of employment law, to leadership skills. Some noted
workshops include:
• Bad Decisions Are No Accident
• Making it Work: Addressing Work/Family Issues
• Managing Risk in the High Risk World of the Fire Service
• Using Your Contract to Protect LGBT Workers
• Advanced Dimensions of Leadership
In addition, roundtable sessions will provide an opportunity for
conference participants to discuss issues and concerns with other fire fighters.
Expert panels, general sessions and an open forum round out this important
schedule of educational programs.

Affiliate Leadership Training Summit (ALTS) offers more new workshops than
