Apply for the 2008 Political Training Academy

September 7, 2007 – The International Association of Fire Fighters will hold the 12th annual Political Training Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, March 29-April 4, 2008. Traditionally, the Political Training Academy is held in early February; however, due to the timing of the 2008 U.S. presidential primary calendar, the 2008 event has been moved to the end of March.

Applications are now available online.

The Political Training Academy educates and assists campaign veterans and political newcomers alike on how to run for elected office and manage a political campaign. Instructors are outside political experts who have worked on numerous political campaigns at the local, state and federal level. More than 500 IAFF members have graduated from the Political Training Academy, and today more than 325 IAFF members and spouses hold local and state elective office.

apply for the Political Training Academy, you must be an IAFF member or immediate family member. Complete the online application and return it to the IAFF Political Action Department with a letter of from your local president supporting your participation in the Political Training Academy by November 1, 2007. Accepted applicants will be notified by the end of the year.
