Nation’s Fire Fighters Support R. David
Paulison as Emergency Management Chief
WASHINGTON, DC – With the confirmation hearing of R. David Paulison scheduled
for Wednesday, International Association of Fire Fighters General President
Harold A. Schaitberger issued this statement in support of the nominee for
undersecretary of the Federal Emergency Management:
“The nation’s fire fighters know our country will be better prepared with
David Paulison in charge of our nation’s emergency management. We need a
seasoned emergency response professional for this important post.
“With hurricane season approaching, our nation needs quick Senate approval of
David Paulison.
“His proven track record in emergency response planning, preparedness,
management, emergency medical care, rescue, recovery and emergency incident
mitigation make him the perfect fit for the top emergency response position in
the federal government.”

DC, represents more than 273,000 full-time professional fire fighters and
paramedics who provide emergency medical response to 80 percent of the
