Akron, OH – Providing resources and support for first responders to ensure a safe and secure Akron area will be the focus of discussion at a meeting of IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger, Democrat candidate (OH-13) candidate Betty Sutton and more than 100 fire fighters from communities in Ohio’s 13th Congressional District, at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 11 at the IAFF Local 330 at 161 Massillon Road in Akron.

“Fire fighters are proud to stand with Betty Sutton. She has spent her career working on the frontlines to fight for and protect the rights and dignity of all workers in the Akron community,” says Schaitberger, who is the leader of one of the nation’s most powerful unions. “We know she has the integrity and will to work to ensure fire fighters and other first responders will have the staffing, training, equipment and funding needed to do their job in the face of disasters and other threats to our communities and our nation.”

The IAFF endorsed the candidacy of Betty Sutton.
